Shihan-dai Riku Aalto (named by co-founder of Kuzuri Kai Ju Jutsu System Master Jari Ilkka) is a key figure in the Varsinais-Suomen Kamppailu-Urheilijat ry (VSKU ry) in Raisio, where the Kuzuri Kai Ju Jutsu System is practiced.
Aalto has knowledge of several martial arts, although Escrima and Ju Jutsu are his main disciplines.
Aalto acts as a Shihan-dai and the head instructor for Ju Jutsu and Escrima at VSKU ry. He is also the head instructor responsible for the Kuzuri Kai Ju Jutsu System itself
Aalto does not teach techniques because they look good or come from the "right" style, but because they work in a real situation. He applies:
Simple, repeatable movements that work under pressure
Scenario-based exercises where the situation can escalate in different ways
Adaptability – how to change a technique on the fly if it doesn't work
Through several martial arts, Aalto found his way to Escrima and Ju Jutsu, and under the tutelage of Master Westerlund, he developed a very direct and effective way of doing Ju Jutsu, which fits well into the world of Kuzuri Kai.
Unlike many other teachers, Aalto has practical experience "on both sides of the table" due to his background. He has travelled the wrong side path, given and taken.
